Good morning folks!
Here we are: following the english games' line from the home page, I open this thread with a bunch of full-english cryptographies.
Are they easy? Or too tough? Are they good and worth solving? I look forward to your answers, comments and counsels!!!
So, go on with these:

NUC.EUS (4: 1,4 = 5,4) - Synonimic -=> Corel Draw

Of course you gotta think in english...
The worm is very good and idiomatic, but not correct.... Sorry.

(I know, "Draw" is a bit chicken-stinking, but the result is so idiomatic...)[/quote]
I think you can translate it as "horsechickenly" 8)
might I try another one, pls?
The rafter (7,5)
waving trunk (the big nose of the elephants) :roll:
...I thought about the man floating trunks on the rivers... sorry for the blunder :oops:

You may try whatever you want, of course!
Very good the waving trunk, but's wrong...
This one is based on a false derivation.... Not easy at all, but very idiomatic...
And now? Nobody else? :cry:
Let's start with the hints, then!
Citazione di: "Wiseman"
Journalist in New York (4,2,3,5) -> It's somehow italian-translated...
Straight Line (5'1,5) -> Try to draw a line on a sheet...
Draw chess match (7,2,"3,5",2,5) -> Where do you play chess?
The rafter (7,5) -> He goes through... a false derivation!
The ex-parachuter (7,6) -> When he was still active, he...
The hop (8,2,1,5) -> Hop is mostly used for...
Diameter (1,5,5) -> In geometry, it's a....
Go on and solve them!
P.S. All articles are ovivians....
Straight Line (5'1,5) -> ruler's right?

I'll try....but i don't think i can find something good!! :oops:

See you all!!!! :wink:
I don't get them in Italian
I won't get them in English either :(

" A Modest proposal" , very Swiftian indeed!
1. Anything to do with Big Apple or papper in the.....Daily?
2. I just thought about a "penny"
3. I'm quite sure it's about "The Queen", isn't it?
4. I'm trying workin'out something with "falls"
that's all folks, I'm afraid it's a very poor try, but I don't have much time in these days....... :-?
Journalist in New York (4,2,3,5)
live in the apple?
Diameter (1,5,5)
a round round?
I gave it a try :-?
Citazione di: "sario"Straight Line (5'1,5) -> ruler's right?
OK for the ruler!
Citazione di: "thinker"1. Anything to do with Big Apple or papper in the.....Daily?

4. I'm trying workin'out something with "falls"
Nice try...
It's not Daily... It's about a famous paper...
Not the Queen, but the two....
falls is quite correct: just found a (false) derivative from it!
Citazione di: "raggiante"Journalist in New York (4,2,3,5)

Diameter (1,5,5)

I gave it a try :-?
Nice try!
For the journalist, see above.
For the diameter, "A" is correct, but it's not an article...
Draw chess match (7,2,"3,5",2,5) -> Balance in the board of kings?
Journalist in New York (4,2,3,5) -> Sign of the Times
Diameter (1,5,5) -> A basic chord
Citazione di: "sario"Draw chess match (7,2,"3,5",2,5) -> Balance in the board of kings?
Journalist in New York (4,2,3,5) -> Sign of the Times
Diameter (1,5,5) -> A basic chord
Very good, mr. sario!!!
Sign of the Times -> Right!
No Balance, and just white nails for "kings" and "board"...
The chord is not basic (but still is a chord), but...
Draw chess match (7,2,"3,5",2,5) -> Evening at "The kings" on board.
I think I got it
Citazione di: "sario"Draw chess match (7,2,"3,5",2,5) -> Evening at "The kings" on board.
I think I got it
Sorry, sary...
You got it, but it's not an evening (though is an evening event, usually).
Draw chess match (7,2,"3,5",2,5) ->
Maybe... Setting of "The kings" on board
Citazione di: "sario"Draw chess match (7,2,"3,5",2,5) ->

Think about two players unable to beat each other who wants to close an even match...

Visto l'insuccesso, svelo le soluzioni...
:cry:
Ma se ne volete altre, ditemelo!
Ruler's order (you use a ruler in order to draw a stright line)
Concert of "the Kings" on board
Falling tears (the rafters tear water apart when rafting through falls)
Falling leaves (he leaves the activity of falling from a plane)
Ferments in a lager (lager is a kind of beer)
A major chord (this is my best one: the diameter is the maximum chord of a circle)
Vabbè. Abbandonata la perfida Albione, torno al suolo e all'idioma natìo.
I'm so mad at me :evil:
I was about to post "falling leaves".... but then I said it can't be!
I'm not self-confident enough :evil:
nice job Wise :D
I'm sorry for the leaves, Ray!
But I know that, if you think about, you can solve anything!
And so, I put another one (maybe easier) just for you:
Change of Government (3,5,6)
Another message, just for make the page turn right...
I appreciate, that's very nice of you Wise..........easier.....
.....but.....sob.......sigh...... :(
I'll think about it........

Good...
The house keeper refers to the White one, isn't it?
But is simpler than that!
"the" is correct, of course.
The first reading is nothing but a description of the trace....
